During an evaluation, our speech-language pathologists (SLPs) conduct a comprehensive assessment to better understand your child’s strengths and areas of need. The evaluation typically includes a detailed review of medical and developmental history, standardized testing, observations, and parent interviews. For speech and language evaluations, we may assess communication skills, speech sound production, language comprehension, social language use, and more. For feeding evaluations, we observe how your child manages different textures and types of food, and assess oral motor skills, swallowing, and feeding behaviors. After the evaluation, we’ll provide a detailed summary of our findings and discuss any recommended treatment plans.
Therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s specific needs and designed to be both effective and enjoyable. We use a variety of methods, including play-based activities, interactive exercises, and therapeutic techniques to engage your child while helping them build skills. In speech therapy, this may include practicing sound production, improving language comprehension, or enhancing social communication. In feeding therapy, we may work on improving oral motor skills, food acceptance, or developing healthy mealtime routines. Parents are often involved in sessions so they can learn strategies to practice at home.
For feeding therapy evaluations and treatment sessions, we recommend bringing 2 foods that your child does well with, and 2 foods that are difficult for your child. After each session the feeding therapist will recommend foods to bring for the following session.

Teletherapy sessions are conducted through secure video conferencing platforms. Just like in-person therapy, our therapists will engage your child in interactive activities, games, and exercises designed to support their speech, language, or feeding goals. Sessions are personalized and tailored to your child’s needs, using materials and techniques that are easy to access virtually. Parents are encouraged to be present during teletherapy to support their child and learn strategies they can implement at home. We provide a comfortable and engaging experience, ensuring that your child receives the same high-quality care remotely.
If your child has had an evaluation at another facility, we may be able to use that evaluation to start therapy, as long as it is recent and includes sufficient detail. We may ask for additional information or follow-up assessments to ensure we have a complete understanding of your child’s needs. Feel free to bring in any evaluations, reports, or records from other providers, and we will review them to determine the best next steps for your child’s therapy.
Therapy sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the age of the child and their specific needs. Our team will work with you to determine the ideal session length for your child.
The length of time that your child needs therapy depends on many factors such as your child’s individual diagnosis, severity, frequency of therapy sessions, attendance to therapy, and amount of home practice. Some children may see progress quickly and only need a few sessions, while others may require ongoing therapy for months or even years. While it may be difficult to estimate how long your child may need therapy for after the initial evaluation, we will conduct regular progress reviews to maximize therapy progress and adjust the plan as needed.
The cost of therapy sessions varies depending on the type of therapy, the length of the session, and whether services are provided in-person or via teletherapy. We offer a transparent pricing structure and will discuss the cost of services with you upfront. We accept self-pay, and our team can provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance if applicable. Please see the Payment page and enter your email to see our rates.
Yes, many families choose to pursue speech therapy outside of school to supplement the therapy their child receives in school. Private therapy allows for more personalized attention and can target areas not fully addressed in the school setting. Therapy outside of school can also provide a more flexible schedule and individualized goals that align with your child’s needs.
